The Connecticut American Legion Baseball Committee is pleased to anounce Sports Information Internships.
Working as an intern for an American Legion Baseball team offers you the possibility of working with any one of our 120+ teams located throughout Connecticut.
- Giving you the ability to live at home
- Hold a part-time summer job while fulfilling your academic requirements.
- Working nights and weekends to get your hours
Each Internship is designed to simulate a collegiate level "SID" Job. You set up and follow your team through the season. The internship is highly visible, and a great chance to develop your skills.
Work Load
50% of your work is internet based,
Your work will be visible to your advisor in addition to our fans and players.

50% of your work is site based,
Keeping Score and Statistics for your assigned team
You will be working in an internet based platform BUT WILL NOT NEED TO KNOW JAVA OR HTML.
We offer two types of internships
HOME TEAM INTERNSHIP Interships are designed for you to attend all of your team's "Home" Games
- Each team has a minimum of 12 - 15 Home games
- You will work each of the home games
- You have the chance to coordinate your work with another team's Intern(s)
- Being web-based, you will be allowed to work from home to meet your team requirements
HOME AND AWAY Internships are designed for you to attend all of your team's "Home"
AND "Away" Games
- Each team has a minimum of 24 - 27 Home and Away games
- You will work each of the home and away games
- You have the chance to coordinate your work with another team's Intern(s)
- Being web-based, you will be allowed to work from home to meet your team requirements
Each team will have its own set of requirements, but your duties may consist of
- Schedule Maintenance
- Keeping scores
- Maintaing player records
- Maintaining Contact Information
- Statistics.
- Team Website Maintenance and Development
- Maintaining Email Database Table(s)
- Sending out Emails
- Coordinating updates with the League Webmaster
In addition to your team based duties, you may be asked to attend and score various games in the State
tournament champonships series using Iscore.
Home team Scorekeeping |
You must know how to score a basbeall game. You will be responsible for all aspects of keeping the nightly home game score. 1. Entering home and opposing team line-ups 2. Keeping track of substitutions 3. Compiling game offensive, defensive, and pitching Statistics

Website Data Entry |
You will be incharge of entering the line score at the end of every home game into the League website

Game Stories |
As a Sports Information professional it will be your job to write interesting and accurate game stories. You will work with the General Manager and Team Manager to write a nightly post game story on the team website. Depending on the team requirements, you will be responsible for getting a short nightly game story to the local newspaper(s). You will need to keep in mind the press deadlines when writing your story

Player Records |
You will be responsible for maintaining each player's Roster Record. Depending on the team, you might be taking and posting "headshots", Player personal Information, Biographical information, uniform information as well as parental contact information.

Team Communications |
Under the direction of your team supervisor, you may be asked to send out informational e-mails to players, coaches and parents as well as posting notifications on the team Home Page.
